1. Information We Collect

When you use KLOI, we process certain data to provide our AI and utility features. However, we take a strict local-first privacy approach:

  • Account & Billing: Your email address for magic link login and subscription management.
  • Usage Metadata: High-level metrics (e.g., number of chat turns, dictation minutes) to manage subscription fair-use limits.
  • Product Content: Files, screenshots, clipboard content, and dictation audio are processed to provide the requested feature. When history sync is enabled, conversation text and selected history are stored securely so they can be restored across your devices.
  • Diagnostics: Basic analytics and crash reports (if enabled) to improve application stability.

2. How We Use Your Data

The data you provide to KLOI is strictly used to return the requested utility or AI result. For example, when you drop an image into the AI Chat, that image is sent securely from your device to our AI providers to generate a response. Your dictation audio is sent securely to a transcription service to return text. We do not intercept, save, or train our own models on your personal inputs.

3. Third-Party Processing

We rely on third-party API providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar services) to process text, images, and audio. By using KLOI, you acknowledge that your inputs will be securely transmitted to these partners for processing. We do not permit these third-party providers to use your personal inputs to train their baseline foundational models.

We use Lemon Squeezy as our merchant of record. We do not store your credit card information directly; all payment processing is handled securely by Lemon Squeezy.

4. Data Storage & Retention

Your data belongs to you. KLOI keeps local caches for offline startup. Content covered by an enabled history-sync setting may also be stored on our servers so it can be restored across your devices. Dropped file contents are not retained as chat-history attachments after processing.

We only retain your account information and usage metadata on our servers for as long as your subscription is active. You can request account deletion at any time by contacting support.
